The goal is to make sport safer for children and the vulnerable sector. Although advances in athlete protection in the past twenty years have decreased instances of athlete maltreatment in amateur sport, incidents of athlete abuse, harassment by coaches, and risks to athlete safety have continued to occur.
Long Term Athletic Development
Children, youth and adults need to do the right things at the right time to develop in their sport or activity - whether they want to be ringette players, dancers, figure skaters or gymnasts. Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) describes the things athletes need to be doing at specific ages and stages.
The St. Albert Ringette Association uses the LTAD model for the development of our athletes. For more information, check out the Canadian Sport for Life website or read the LTAD for Parents document below.

and how to ensure athletes return to play safely.
The sport-specific modules offer coaches scenarios specific to their sport, while the general sports module will suit all other coaches.

CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES
Coaching Code of Ethics
St. Albert Ringette Association’s Coaching Code of Ethics was designed to provide appropriate guidelines and standards of conduct for all coaches in our association. We are committed to providing the best experience possible for both players and coaches.
Act with integrity in performing all duties with your players, their parents, and your local ringette association.
Strive to be well prepared, so that your coaching duties are carried out with competence.
Act at all times in the best interest of the development of your players as whole persons.
There are 5 main aspects of whole personal health:
Maintain the highest standards of personal conduct and support the principles of play.
Accept both the letter (literal interpretation) and the spirit (intent) of the rules of the game.
Accept and support the role of the officials in providing judgment to ensure that games are conducted fairly and according to the established rules.
Treat you fellow coaches with courtesy, good faith, and respect.
